Richland added senior hires to boost up the team.
Hong Kong based hedge fund manager Richland Capital Management is expanding rapidly. Richland has appointed Elena Lau as Chief Operating Officer in Aug and Alden Chung as Portfolio Manager in July.
Elena has over 14 years of experiences in the financial industry. She joined from Merrill Lynch prime brokerage and has previously worked for Goldman Sachs asset servicing in Hong Kong and J.P Morgan financial control in New York. Elena will be responsible for marketing, operations, and risk management at Richland.
Alden is a veteran of equity trading with 18 years of experience. He has been a founding director of Apex Capital Management since 2004 focusing on various trading strategies including short term Event Driven and Equity L/S. Prior to Apex, he was a trader at HSBC for over 10 years. Also joined from Apex Capital is Wing Shek Lau â?? an execution trader with over 20 years of experience in securities dealing.
Founded in 2006 by Alex Au and Eva Lo, Richland currently manages and advises on over USD300mm of assets, its flagship Richland Asia Absolute Return Fund has outperformed the market returning approximately 4.3% Aug YTD and maximum drawdown of only 0.7% in 2010.
