Andrew Suckling, a former partner at Ospraie Management LLC, and Russell Plackett, previously head of metals trading at BNP Paribas SA, plan to start a hedge fund investing in commodities.

Verulam Resources Fund Ltd. will invest in agriculture, metals and bulk commodities such as coal. The fund may also invest in commodity- related equities. The other founding partners are Heath Jansen, former head of European metals and mining research at Citigroup Inc., and Joah Sapphire, founder of Global Dynamic Group LLC.

The Verulam Resources Fund will be managed by Verulam LLP and Verulam LLC from offices in London and New York. No start date was given.
