The US Senate on Wednesday night approved a $700bn plan to rescue the financial system.Both Barack Obama and John McCain backed the measure in the 74-25 vote in favour. The Senate vote puts pressure on the US House of Representatives where a new vote is scheduled for Friday. The original proposal for the bail out plan has been rejected by the House on Monay.
